What is Day Surgery?

It is also called Ambulatory Surgery. It means the patient can have their operation and go home the same day and recover in the comfort of their own home supported by their family. It is extremely helpful in children and elderly people as it significantly reduces the risk of contracting hospital borne infections such as MRSA and Clostridium defficile which cause significant morbidity and mortality even when the operation its self is not major.
